Chicken and Celery Stir-Fry with Rice
In Chinese, it called Ji Rou Chao Qin Cai (鸡肉炒芹菜)
Ingredients:
- chicken
- celery
- ginger
Spices
- (Chinese) cooking wine
- soy sauce (If you could differentiate between Sheng Chou and Lao Chou, then add both, but with more Sheng Chou and less Lao Chou)
- salt
- white pepper powder
- chili powder (optional)
- corn starch
How to
- slice the chicken to the shape and size you like
- make a sauce out of cooking wine, soy sauce, white pepper powder, and add some chili powder if you like spicy food
- marinate chicken slices in the sauce
- let the marinated chicken stay in the fridge for 3 to 5 hours
- put 2 spoons of oil in the pan, medium heat
- slice the ginger and put in the oil
- till you smell the nice aroma of fried ginger coming out of the pan, put the marinated chicken pieces in the pan, fry till it half cooked
- pour the cut celery pieces in the pan and fry them together
- make another sauce by adding salt, corn starch, white pepper powder and water
- add the sauce to the pan and let it cook for a few minutes
